Thanks for bearing your soul and writing this book. This was a good read. Helped me to understand things I could not, and to have more compassion.
It was great to know I wasn't alone in the pain of dealing with a loved one who is addicted. Excellent book for those who's marriage or relationship is troubled or broken by pornography.
In a remarkable way God got his attention before it was too late. In an engaging way Clay and his wife candidly reveal thier struggle. Clay thought he could keep his secret sin quiet, that the only one he was affecting was himself. If you ever thought pornography doesn't have victims, think again. I'd say "RECOMMENDED" but I think the right word here is "ESSENTIAL" for anyone suffering from pronography, But he was wrong it nearly destroyed his marriage and career. And more importantly his own walk with God.
Gives hope to those still in the thick of the battle. Helpful words for those married to a person addicted to porn. Great to see how their marriage was rebuilt.
It could be any person you see in church on Sunday morning.I especially appreciated the candor and directness of the book. I think part of the power of the book is the fact that this person living a lie looked like a Christian superstar from the outside. I would recommend it to anyone who knows someone struggling with a "secret sin", not only pornography. I read the first 133 pages of this book in 2 evenings. It is a very easy read and I didn't see any distraction or smugness in the bouncing back and forth or discussions of Clay's early popularity.
